What is Polyaspartic Flooring?
Polyaspartic flooring is a type of industrial resin floor system derived from aliphatic polyurea technology. Originally developed for automotive and bridge coatings, it has since evolved into a versatile and highly efficient solution for fast-track industrial flooring projects. A polyaspartic floor is a two-component system that cures rapidly, even in low temperatures, offering excellent adhesion, chemical resistance, and a smooth, hard-wearing finish.
One of the key advantages of polyaspartic concrete floor coatings is their ability to be applied in thin films with extremely fast cure times, often allowing for return to service within hours. This makes them particularly suitable for businesses where downtime needs to be minimal, such as warehouses, food processing plants, and logistics centres.
Unlike epoxy systems, polyaspartic floor coatings cure by reacting with humidity in the air. This makes them ideal for time-sensitive applications, but also requires careful installation conditions to ensure optimal results.
Fast Cure Times
Full cure is typically achieved within 2 to 4 hours

I have questions…
Polyaspartic flooring cures much faster than epoxy, offers better UV resistance, and can be applied in lower temperatures.
Polyaspartic systems are typically more expensive per m² than standard epoxy, but this is offset by faster installation, reduced downtime, and long-term value in operational efficiency. When uptime and speed are crucial, it becomes a cost-effective solution.
While not as thick or long-lasting under constant heavy traffic as polyurethane or epoxy systems, polyaspartic floor coatings generally offer a lifespan of 5 to 10 years, depending on the environment and maintenance schedule.
Yes, polyaspartic can be applied directly to concrete, provided the substrate is properly prepared. Moisture testing and surface profiling are critical for the strong adhesion of the polyaspartic.
Polyaspartic floors are hard and resistant to many types of wear. You can also apply a suitable topcoat and adhere to a good maintenance regime to extend its longevity.
