What is a Chemical-Resistant Resin Flooring?

Chemical-resistant resin flooring is a high-performance solution typically made from epoxy, polyurethane, novolac, and vinlyester. This type of flooring is perfect for areas that face constant exposure to harsh or corrosive chemicals, heavy equipment, or strict hygiene requirements. It resists damage, is easy to clean, and helps maintain a safe working environment.

To further protect industrial floors, chemical protection systems, such as resin-based containment linings and bunds, can be used to provide an extra barrier against corrosive substances. Our chemical-resistant coatings are designed to meet stringent health and safety standards, including 110% chemical containment, significantly reducing the risk of spills or leaks.

Why Choose Resin for Chemical Laboratory Flooring?

Chemical-resistant resin flooring, such as epoxy and polyurethane, is ideal for chemical environments due to its durability, long lifespan, and resistance to heavy traffic, harsh chemicals, and aggressive cleaning. Its seamless, non-porous surface prevents the absorption of liquids and contaminants, making it easy to clean while reducing the risk of corrosion, staining, and bacterial growth. These floors also support health and safety compliance, offering anti-slip options and helping to maintain a safer, more hygienic working environment.

Chemical Manufacturing Flooring Options

Epoxy High Build Coating - Line markings in Factory

Epoxy Flooring

Epoxy resin flooring is renowned for its high durability, seamless finish, and exceptional chemical resistance. It creates a hard, non-porous surface that is easy to clean and maintain, making it ideal for areas that require hygiene and toughness.

Polyurethane Flooring

PU flooring is highly flexible and offers superior resistance to thermal shock, chemicals, and physical impact. PU flooring is available with anti-slip textures, enhancing safety, and it provides greater comfort underfoot compared to epoxy flooring.

Polyaspartic Flooring - Hero

Polyaspartic Flooring

Polyaspartic flooring is a fast-curing, durable resin system based on aliphatic polyurea technology, ideal for time-sensitive industrial environments due to its excellent adhesion, chemical resistance.

MMA Flooring - Hero

MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) Flooring

MMA resin is valued for its ultra-fast curing time, and is often ready for use within a few hours, making it ideal when quick installation or minimal downtime is critical. It also offers excellent durability, slip resistance, and UV stability.

Polyurea - Hero

Polyurea Flooring

Polyurea flooring is a fast-curing, flexible, and highly durable resin coating that resists chemicals, impact, and abrasion, making it ideal for environments requiring quick installation and minimal disruption.

Chemical Resistant Flooring Applications

Chemical Processing Zones

These areas face constant exposure to harsh chemicals like acids and solvents, so flooring must be highly resistant to corrosion and contamination. Seamless resin systems like epoxy or novolac are great options due to their durability and chemical protection.

Bunds and Spill Containment

Bunds must ensure full containment where hazardous chemicals are stored, and vinylester offers the highest level of protection. It has exceptional resistance to aggressive chemicals, is fire-retardant, anti-static, and is ideal for safeguarding high-risk areas.

Laboratories

Chemical labs require flooring that’s hygienic, anti-static, and highly resistant to spills. Novolac epoxy offers superior protection against aggressive chemicals while supporting clean, controlled, and safe working environments.

Loading Bays and Transit Routes

These high-traffic areas need tough, non-slip, and chemical-resistant flooring. Polyurethane screeds offer excellent durability, impact resistance, and load strength – perfect for withstanding forklifts and spills.

Understanding the installation process of resin flooring

While the installation process of resin flooring is uncomplicated, it demands the touch of professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes. Therefore, our team at Industrial Resin Flooring manages the whole process, from the initial surface preparation to the final touches. As a result, ensuring minimal interruption to your warehouse operations.

Before we embark on the installation process, we perform a detailed inspection of the area. Moreover, this involves checking for any existing damages or irregularities on the floor that could hinder the installation process. After this step, we focus on preparing the surface by ensuring it is smooth, clean, and ready. As a result, providing the perfect base for the new flooring.

At this stage, our experienced installers apply the resin flooring with a focus on achieving a smooth and even finish. Furthermore, we use top-grade materials and employ cutting-edge techniques to ensure the durability and longevity of your warehouse floor.

After the installation is complete, we don’t leave you hanging. We provide useful guidance on how to maintain your new resin flooring. By following regular cleaning routines and scheduling occasional professional maintenance, your floor will retain its aesthetic appeal and functionality for many years to come.

I have questions…

Resin flooring typically lasts between 10 and 20 years, but its lifespan largely depends on its use and the maintenance of the flooring.

Resin flooring meets both HSE and HACCP, and has 110% chemical containment compliance.

Both novolac epoxy, vinylester, and polyurethane offer the highest resistance to aggressive substances and heat, making them great choices for the chemical industry.

Both offer excellent chemical resistance, but vinylester handles more extreme environments and has better tolerance to heat and moisture during installation. Differently, novolac is more commonly used in processing and for chemical lab flooring.
