What is Vinylester Resin?

Vinylester resin is a high-performance resin system engineered for environments that demand exceptional chemical resistance. Structurally, it is a hybrid of epoxy and polyester resins, combining the mechanical toughness of epoxy with the speed and economy of polyester systems.

Its standout property lies in its tightly bonded polymer structure, which makes it particularly suitable for harsh chemical environments. The denser the polymer crosslinking, the more resistant it becomes, making vinylester ideal for areas exposed to aggressive acids, alkalis, and solvents.

Vinylester is commonly applied in chemical containment zones, such as bunds and tank surrounds, to act as a protective barrier between hazardous materials and the underlying concrete. By doing so, it helps prevent contamination of subsoils and groundwater, ensuring both safety and regulatory compliance.
